Early this morning, 08/09/08, we preformed an emergency patch to block certain code in the game that was being exploited. This code was the reason behind several recent issues and is now fixed. As an added bonus, a spam filter has been added to the game to help keep the lobbies and in-game atmosphere as clutter free as possible.

However, seeing as this patch to the server was a necessary and immediate action, it was not perfect. There is now a bug that prevents all players from purchasing PX items in the in-game marketplace. We expect our regularly scheduled maintenance will fix this bug and apologize for the flaw.

A special thanks to those members of our team that preformed and tested this patch on short notice and during the time they would normally be getting their beauty sleep. Thanks guys <3!

We have identified and fixed the issue that was preventing players from changing their game passwords on GamersFirst.com. Players may, once again, safely change their game passwords.

Players who have forgotten their Gamersfirst secret question and answer or just want to change it, may now do so by submitting a ticket to Customer Service through GamersFirst.com.

Furthermore, Fluffy the Hamster has been recovered and our G1 servers are back up and running. Fluffy was heavily sedated during the confrontation so we expect G1 to be running slightly slower than usual today. Thank you for understanding. Welcome back Fluffy!

Servers have just been taken down for maintenance today. There is no patch. However, we are currently in testing for a new content patch that almost doubled in size this week, which is why we need at bit more time for testing. Here are some unspecific aspects of the next patch:

New CQC Explosives premium map
Several current maps released for Free2Players
2 new PX Items added to the in-game item shop

We are shooting for the servers coming back online around 5:00pm (PST) tonight.

In an effort of epic proportions, one of our server hamsters has escaped our power center. Normally, if something like this happened we could just replace the hamster with one of our spares. However the hamster that escaped was "Fluffy" and Fluffy is no ordinary hamster. Not only was he strong enough to be the ONLY hamster powering G1 servers, he had also been genetically engineered to be the fastest, strongest, most powerful hamster in the world.

At 11:00 this morning, Fluffy knocked out his guard, bashed through his cell wall (a hole over 6 inches in diameter), stole GM Pixel's new car and is currently in a high speed chase heading south, we assume to Mexico. Until he has been recovered by the K2 Special forces unit, G1 servers will remain down.

Caution: Fluffy has been trained in martial arts and is considered armed and dangerous. Do not approach abnormally large hamsters until we give the all clear.
